Far infrared, low EMF, active chiller — real specs, honest tradeoffs

Questions We Get a Lot

It depends on the unit. Most single-person far infrared saunas operate on a standard 120V outlet. Larger cabins, corner units, and some cold plunge chillers require a dedicated 220V or 240V circuit. Check the electrical spec on each product page before purchasing — running an undersized circuit is the most common installation mistake and a real fire risk.

An active chiller uses a refrigeration unit to hold water at a set temperature continuously, typically between 39°F and 59°F, without ice. A passive tub relies on ice you add manually, which means temperature drifts as ice melts. If you plan to plunge more than a few times per week, an active chiller is more consistent and less labor-intensive. The tradeoff is higher upfront cost and a unit that requires a power source.

Most panels mount on a standard wall with included hardware or a floor stand, and plug into a 120V outlet. They do not require dedicated circuits. Mounting height and distance from the panel matter for effective use — each product page lists the recommended distance for its specific irradiance output. A quad chip LED panel at the wrong distance delivers meaningfully less output than its spec suggests.

Peak Vital Living offers 30-Day Returns — full details are in our Return Policy. For large freight items, the return logistics are more involved than a standard parcel return, so read the policy carefully before purchasing. If you have questions about a specific item's return process, contact us before you order.

About Our Best Sellers

Home recovery equipment covers a specific set of tools: heat therapy enclosures, cold water immersion systems, photobiomodulation panels, and motorized massage chairs. Each category works through a different mechanism and serves a different use case. Heat enclosures use far infrared wavelengths to warm the body directly rather than heating ambient air, which allows lower operating temperatures than traditional saunas. Cold immersion systems hold water at a controlled temperature for repeatable contrast therapy sessions. Red light panels deliver specific wavelengths of red and near infrared light to surface tissue and require correct panel-to-body distance to perform as specified. Massage chairs mechanize compression, percussion, and traction along a track system. None of these categories are interchangeable. A buyer choosing in this space should prioritize power specs, build material, EMF ratings, electrical requirements, and the realistic footprint each unit occupies in a real residential space. These are not impulse purchases. They reward buyers who read the specs and measure the space first.
